Happy Monday! We’re finally getting some significant snowfall here in Boston, so I’ve been sticking to the treadmill for my runs. On my longer runs, I try to switch it up so I don’t go bananas while staring at a screen for 60-90 minutes. I did this workout the other day and it really helped the time fly.
This workout consists of alternating between running or walking one mile and .25 mile. I ran the mile intervals and walked the .25 intervals, but you could certainly keep running. For each full mile, I increased my speed by at least .1 MPH each time. I ended up running my last full mile .5 MPH faster than the first. The purpose is to run each whole mile faster than the last. The .25 rest in between each mile really helped the faster miles seem easier! 🙂
