Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. I have been fighting a cold for nearly a week, so my weekend was a nice combination of relaxation and running errands. One of those errands was picking up a few groceries for the week at Trader Joe’s. I think I have mentioned my love for Trader Joe’s a few times on this blog — I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t love Trader Joe’s!
One of my favorite things about Trader Joe’s is their seasonal offerings, specifically their winter/Christmas products. Hello, chocolate peppermint! Since I know many of you out there feel the same, I figured I’d round up some of my favorites.
Wintry Blend Coffee $7.99/14 oz.
I’m a sucker for a spicy coffee in the the winter — this coffee is nice and spicy without being too overdone. The cinnamon, clove and peppercorn notes add some warmth and is a perfect balance to the medium Vienna roast.
Chocolate Peppermint Almond Beverage $1.79/32 oz.
This is what I used in my healthier version of Starbucks Mocha Peppermint Frappuccino. I was hesitant to try this, but I immediately loved the subtle peppermint flavor. While I don’t normally like sweet beverages, this was just sweet enough to add a splash to my coffee. It’s also shelf-stable, so I recommend stocking up on a few to enjoy throughout the year. I certainly did this past weekend!
O Tannenbaum Crispy Potato Snacks $1.99/5 oz.
I know, these seem a tad strange, but they are actually quite good. They remind me of Munchos, which I despise, so I was surprised when I kept going back for more. They are crispy and airy, and the light green color comes from spinach. I have only eaten these on their own, but I imagine they would stand up to any dip.
Roasted & Mashed Sweet Potatoes $2.49/18 oz.
Technically, I think these are an autumn offering, but I stock my freezer up with these every year. They are just sweet potatoes, already roasted and mashed — nothing added. I like to keep these on hand for weeknights because you can heat them up so quickly. One of my favorite ways to use these is adding them to boxed mac ‘n cheese (like Annie’s) — it adds a nice, sweet flavor, as well as some extra nutrients. It makes me feel a little less guilty for eating mac ‘n cheese for dinner. I should note I wasn’t able to find the roasted version this year — just mashed. I am not sure if the roasted version is no longer available or what, but I still have a few bags on hand and they are almost as delicious.
White Pine Hand Soap & Hand Lotion $5.99/set
I used to go crazy for cinnamon scents this time of year, but recently, pine has become a favorite. I’m actually burning a pine scented candle as I type up this post! I love the fact that the soap and lotion come in a handy carrier — it makes for a great hostess gift, and you can’t beat the price of $5.99. This smells as good, if not better than a similar, more expensive set at a store I won’t name (I think you all know where!). The scent is light, so you won’t walk around smelling like a Christmas tree!
Now it’s your turn — what are some of your seasonal favorites from Trader Joe’s?
