Last Minute Gift Ideas

Six days. ¬†Six days, people! If you’re like me, you’re making a checklist of everything you still need to do before Santa’s big day. I finished up most of my shopping this past Friday, but I still have a few little things to purchase. Luckily, many stores are offering free or discounted shipping with guaranteed delivery by Christmas. But you’ll need to act fast because today is generally the last day to shop online for delivery before 12/25. The best part? Many stores are offering great sales this last week before Christmas!

Here are a few last minute gift ideas:

I think candles this time of year are always a good idea. I picked up a frasier fir scented candle from Thymes at a local gift shop this weekend and it smells amazing. It’s a little more than I normally like to pay for a candle, but I can already tell it’s worth the cost.Travel Mug

I can always use a new travel mug. I am either losing them or am often too lazy to wash them everyday, so I like to have a few travel mugs in my cabinet. Many mugs are now 30% off at Starbucks — I like this one!

Last year, I picked up a few journals and planners to have on hand for gifts. I ended up gifting some and I may or may not have kept one or two for myself. I love the selection TJ Maxx and Marshalls has, but the Paper Source looks like they have a good selection, too and calendars/planners are 25% 0ff right now. Not to mention, they are currently offering free shipping on orders of $40 or more (code: FREE40) with guaranteed delivery by 12/24 if your order is placed by 3:00 PM on Monday, 12/19.

Gift Cards

While I generally like to purchase gifts instead of gift cards, I do think gift cards come in handy. Sometimes you have to buy for that person who has everything (I’m looking at you, Dad) or often, you just don’t know what to get for your friends. I often like to supplement a gift with a gift card, too. Some of my favorite ideas are grocery stores, coffee shops, and of course, Nordstrom! Also, many gift cards can be delivered electronically, so you can really wait until the last minute!

Lunch or Dinner Date

Everyone seems to be so busy this time of year, so I think it’s important to slow down and spend some time with your friends and family. Making a lunch or dinner date is a great gift idea because it allows your and your friend time to catch up and enjoy time together. You don’t have to go anywhere fancy — you could even pick up some take out and stay in. I just think it’s super important to spend time with your friends and family, especially during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

What kind of shopper are you? Do you get your shopping done early, or are you a last minute shopper?
